Fostering Hope currently offers fostering services for children in the west central Florida area. Foster parents are screened to ensure that they are a good fit for children in need. Foster families are interviewed by the Board of Directors and live in homes provided by Fostering Hope. We work closely with local community-based care agencies in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando counties. With assistance from screened volunteers and part-time helpers, aid is available to foster parents which adds another layer of protection for children placed in foster care.
Hope Houses Benefit Children
Hope houses provide a number of important benefits for both foster children and foster families. A home setting offers these benefits:
- Oversight and accountability inherent within the program design
- A traditional family setting (not a group home)
- A child-focused approach designed to promote what is in the child’s best interest
- Improved foster parent retention through added benefits and support
- On-site, population-specific services for children at risk
- Increased community awareness, involvement and financial support
- Opportunity to place siblings together
Giving Foster Children the Best Environment
Hope Houses are:
- 4-plus bedroom homes with fenced yard
- A place where siblings can live together,
- A place where kids are allowed to be kids
Children thrive when they are provided with the right type of support structure, including a caring family and a secure home. Statistics show that a great many foster children move from foster home to foster home, unable to become attached to a family or have access to a secure environment. Hope Houses give foster children the structure they need to succeed. Some foster children have special needs. These needs can be better met by living in a Hope House. Unfortunately, siblings are too often split up in different foster homes, sometimes never being able to reconnect. Hope Houses offer a place to keep siblings together while living in a comfortable, safe place with loving caregivers

CAN YOU HELP SUPPORT A FOSTER CHILD?
Everything happens for a reason…
I think that all the stuff I have been through was so I can help kids just like me. I am 18 years old and have been in more foster homes than I can count. Going from home to home was the hardest thing about being in foster care. Not only did I lose stuff I can never get back, but I lost myself. I became numb to everything. I didn’t care about myself or anyone else. I never got close to anyone because I knew I was going to leave. I don’t want other kids to go through what I did. I want to help them find a safe place that they can call home….
