​Local foster mom writes: 
"At 8pm a Child Protective Investigator (CPI) pulled in my driveway to drop off a 1 year old girl. The van was completely full of children under 8 years old. As I was handed this baby, I was met with her young brother wailing. The transporter informed me only one of the other kids had a home identified to sleep in tonight. I offered to get the children a bottle of water and a couple spoke up in desperation “yes, can I please have a bottle of water?” I returned with bottles of water, a sippy cup for the two year old and a bag of pretzels knowing these children had yet to eat dinner. Their faces were so relieved as the transporter and I poured the pretzels into cups for them to snack on. Baby girl had been smiling until the van door closed and she realized her brother wasn’t getting out. Her eyes turned to panic.

She’s fed, bathed and sound asleep but this is the reality for so many kids in our child welfare system right now.

They’ve been ripped from their parents, and then their siblings. They don’t know where they’ll rest their head each night or even when they’ll have their next meal.

Tonight our county has 60+ children of all ages in this situation.

Statistically, if ONE family from every church in our area would step up for one child we would have foster families waiting for a call.  We’d have siblings placed together. We’d have stable, long term placements. Foster families would be able to take a break. Instead we are finding ways to rearrange our homes to accommodate more kids."

This is what our partnership with the community looks like:

​Meet the Moore family: This is Patti and Tom. Years ago, when 3 girls showed up to their home, sadly, their belongings were in garbage bags.  All 3 were adopted by Patti & Tom and are now adults. One of their daughters, Loretta, remembering their situation when they first were placed with The Moore’s, decided she wanted to do something for other kids so they wouldn’t have the same experience. Tom, Patti and Loretta now donate totes and diaries for kids in foster care to us. This partnership honors our kids by providing a dignified way to keep their personal belongings.

“Thank you, Moore family!” Change can only happens when people act ✨ We appreciate you, and are so grateful to have you in our village.

Our Kidz Closets were blessed with 70 pairs of underwear from our friend Dorne Hill Tzoucalis. Thank you so much to everyone involved. Your generosity helps us meet a big need in our foster community.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out on a Friday night to show our kids a good time at and to give our foster parents a little break. I think the adults had as much fun as the kids at Chuck E. Cheese’s place.  Thanks for being our village.

May 5th: A No More Orphans Experience was held this evening at Community Bible Church Brooksville to call on people of faith to step up to serve as foster and adoptive parents. Featured speaker, Loryn Smith - friend, foster/adoptive parent, child advocate, child trauma expert, stopped by our table to show her support.

Annette collected toothbrushes, mouthwash, and floss for her BioMed project, which she donated to our Kidz Closet 💙

Our Children need your help – Step up & Become a First Responder.

Our First Responders Program is in need of people to get involved in the first moments when a child/children are removed from their parents.

Considering being a foster parent? Not sure if you want to commit long term? Are you currently a foster parent and considering letting your fostering license expire? Here's a way everyone can help:

First Responders are short term placements that help offer comfort, safety, and stability until a long term foster home is arranged. If you think this is something you’d be interested in, or if you know anyone that can fill this need, please reach out to us so we can help get you started.

Fostering Hope’s fastest growing program is our Kidz Closet. We have 2 locations–1 in Spring Hill, the other in New Port Richey. This resource helped over 4,500 people in 2021.
